Re: Chevelle Concept Car in the Works...?
That rendering is just somebody's wishful thinking. Retro is essentially done and over with; Mustang sales have been slowly (but steadily) declining for over a decade, despite the fact that the cars get better with each successive model year. If this car happens, it'll be small, probably not much bigger than the Cruze, it'll be powered by a turbo 6, or maybe a small direct-injected V-8, and it won't be in the least bit retro. I'd be a little surprised if it's even called "Chevelle". All the automakers periodically renew trademarks on their vintage intellectual property, and every time it happens, we're treated to another round of baseless speculation in the media. There's nothing to indicate this is anything more than GM maintaining control of the name Chevelle for licensing purposes. The reality is that what GM (and Ford and Chrysler) need is kids in the showrooms, and the majority of kids today aren't interested in $40,000 retro-mobiles.
