Bill, if you were closer you could use my snow blower.

Front door and driveway. That's a yard stick in the foreground. Front door at 25". Driveway at 35" in the valley between drifts. The diesel Suburban was plugged in for the past couple days so it created a warm spot. The daughter's car wasn't.

I was born an raised in northern Wisconsin and remember the snow storms all to well -- that's just another reason I live in south Texas ... the attitude of folks down here is "if our Lord put the snow here, he can take it away and its normally gone by 1000 hrs". Snow is just another four-letter-word!

You folks be SAFE back there -- the real challenge is when that crap begins to melt!! TAZ

The neighbor came by at 7:00 PM and was able to plow half the driveway with his brand new Dodge. There is so much snow, it is now a mountain 8 feet high and 25 feet deep. He got stuck once and I had to pull him out with my 21 year old Suburban.

...After I got him out, the four wheel drive stopped working in my truck. So I just ordered the new thermal actuator a few minutes ago. Picking it up tomorrow at the auto parts store. Hopefully that is a quick fix for a common problem with these trucks.

That would be the major thing that I DO NOT MISS about NJ. My folks live out by Mc Guire AFB and they had 6 foot snow drifts in the driveway and had to have a backhoe come dig out the 100 yard driveway. Stay warm, safe and dry

Picked up the new actuator this morning and installed it in 15 minutes. Yay, I have 4WD again! (after a few post-installation anxious moments before I realized that there was a blown "4WD" fuse under the dash. The bad actuator popped the fuse).
