My buddy used to have a Gremlin X back in the 80s. Plum Crazy purple with a glassed in rear hatch. Absolutely fugly, but she was sick. Guys in Mustangs etc. would roll up laughing and try him out. Every single time without fail I'd be left cracking up at the look on their face when the front wheels came up.

my buddy in high school had one with a 401 and a 4 speed...it was terrifying....i'm not sure if it was the motor..the worn suspension, the hard sun baked N50 tires or the fact every time he shifted, his steering arm jerked too, it would change lanes, and then he'd hand over hand try to get it straight...and looking back..it was a turd

but the the theatrics he put in it..wow..ya'd think it was a monster...lol..such a schmuck, but it was a legend in High school thats for sure...talk about a scary ride..more like some 16 year old idiots trying to impress the rest of the world....what i wouldnt do to go back there for just 1 day...oh..it pulled the wheels too..just ask him..although no one else ever saw it...it definitely pulled the wheels..lol

funny..it had side pipes and it smoked pretty good too..

memory smooths out the bumps...

some of my personal car stories get better every time i tell them...like the time my 71 GTO 3 spd car got the jump on a 65 L78 Corvette....and for a decade i got him..lol..in fact, by the time i hit 3rd, he was so far gone..all i could see was 6 tails and alot of tire smoke..lol...yes it had 6 tails, was maroon with red/maroon interior, K/O's and chrome side pipes..i remember it so vividly(at least thats how I REMEMBERED IT..NOT SO SURE NOW..LOL..KINDA FUZZY RIGHT NOW...DANG...)

but for a summer..

i smoked him so bad he wouldnt pull back next to me (for the first 30 yards..)

and conveniently left the part out how he smoked me so bad..i was embarrassed to pull next to him...

good times i tell ya..good times..i got goose bumps and can smell tire smoke right now..and go a grin so big a bull-dozer couldnt knock it off...
