Isnt this most likely a Tonawanda vs the Flint engine.. I have posted that photo several times in the past as I got it off of someones post here on SYC.

Exactly... That is believed to be Tonawanda detail on assembly with the painted exhaust manifolds as the visual indicator.

Awesome! Yes, this is the only pic I have ever seen of an original L48 350 Tonawanda engine. Darrell has posted it a few times for me, so I finally saved it. And until now, I hadn't read the story behind it - which significantly adds to the authenticity of the photo.

I don't know if this will win me the lunch bet on the painted oil cap - but I will feel good about it.
