Exactly... That is believed to be Tonawanda detail on assembly with the painted exhaust manifolds as the visual indicator.

Awesome! Yes, this is the only pic I have ever seen of an original L48 350 Tonawanda engine. Darrell has posted it a few times for me, so I finally saved it. And until now, I hadn't read the story behind it - which significantly adds to the authenticity of the photo.
I don't know if this will win me the lunch bet on the painted oil cap - but I will feel good about it. Thanks!
