I now have a darn good reason not to buy it. I have been outbid, and seller has not answered my very simple questions after two days.

Seems he changed the listing from an auction to Premium Listing with an ask of $19,250 and 1 offer of $15,500.
I admit, it was interesting but not at 19k for me. You have other cool cars to invest those funds in, not to mention a "few" more items to make your new shop complete.
I have to remind myself of that all the time, when I see a vehicle I truly would like to own. Tony doesn't help that either, with all the stuff he posts. I have 6 cars now, that all need restoration, so I'm trying to train myself not to look at the postings......someday, I might even achieve that...

Totally agree. At $13,500 ( a bit over $14k with fees) I was willing. Not at 19k.

I drove a 57 210 2 door in high school. Nothing special. 283 PG car in Tropical Turquoise.

So the 57s always tug at my heart strings; which is a great way to get in trouble, with all those stars in your eyes.

I hear ya on the pull of a first car, even if it wasn't great. My first one was a '54 210 2 door. I bought another one about 4 years ago in Casper WY. It still wears it's original paint !! Very faded but no surface rust. Great patina, as they say. I removed the entire drivetrain, shrink wrapped and ratchet strapped it all on a large pallet and shipped it to a guy in CA that wanted it badly. I have a high performance 292 built for it along with a built TH350 and a '57 3.73 posi rear axle.
