DarryID - I remember a Marty Schorr article where he mentioned a ZL1 Corvette that I believe he said was black and was on loan to him from Chevy.

You also made me remember an article in a 1968 Corvette News on the Sunray-DX L88 Corvettes the Don raced and he had the Yenko crest emblem on the hood. There were three Sunray-DX red white and blue L88 Corvettes at Sebring 1968. The #2 car driven by Yenko/Rodriguez, #3 car Morgan/Sharp, and #4 car Thompson/DeLorenzo. The #3 car won the GT class with a 6th overall. In the same magazine there is an article showing Yenko testing the #3 car to prepare it for LeMans. I don't know if he ever raced it at LeMans though.

Joe, Neat photos! Thanks. I'd like to here more about the Corvette News article and the black ZL-1 mentioned. Let me know if you can dig it up.What issue, etc.
Don Yenko also drove a '67 Sunray-DX L88 Corvette. It had the Yenko Tuned decal in the back window, but I don't think it had the crest on the hood. It was also R,W,& BLUE. Which reminds me of the "DANA" '67 Corvette...

DarryID, The Corvette News is 1968 VOL 11 #5. Yenko was testing the 68 L88 at Steel Cities Raceway in Ohio. He brought along the 67 L88 that won the GT class at the 1968 24 hrs of Daytona. It has the number 31 on it.

The Marty Schorr referance to the black ZL1 will be difficult to find because it was only a sentance or two. I think it was in a early 70's Cars editorial.
