I think there are at least five I know of in a 30 mile radius of my house. All the owners wishing to remain unnknown as well as their cars. A couple are hinting at selling so we shall see.

I know of quite a few cars hiding on this island. Too bad I'm not into Mopars.

I don't dought there are alot of cars out there. I believe that alot of owners know what they have and just don't document them with any registery. If you could come up with a reason for them to do it and make it worth their while, they might come out of the closet. You have to come up with something that adds some kind of value to the car and/or would put money in their pocket.

I know of a '68 GT500 KR convertible that sits covered with dust in a garage. But the old guy knows what he has. My dad said he had a small block Cobra that sat in a warehouse stolen in the 80's.

I still look in 'ole tobacco barns here in NC and have spotted some vintage iron. Most of the time, the owner doesn't want to sell it for 'sentiment' reasons. In time, the car turns into rust/dust.

Over the years, I've seen restoreable GM, Ford and Mopars meet their demise in this fashion. If nothing else, they were a Gold Mine in parts!

Some folks just don't understand.

Can't imagine someone having one of these cars stored away for 30 odd years. A friend has a COPO Chevelle identical to ours and it hasn't been licensed since 1988. It just goes for a short occasional run up and down the road in front of his house. I've tried to buy the car several times. No sale. Some day perhaps.
