...what he said. My bet is that its a tach made by RAC or some other "second rate" company, and sold through a JC Whitney type catalog, hence the lack of logos or names on the tach itself. Dixco used to to this as well, and sold hood tachs, gauges, etc. through JC Whitney, with no logos or brand name present. I don't think this is a Dixco tach though, as it doesn't look like any I've seen with the Dixco logo on them.

Well then, it's a good copy of a lot of typical S/W features.

Also, some 1st rate companies supply their products without their logo to second rate companies to satisfy the discount market.

It looks a lot like this known RAC unit. Same grained plastic, single screw cup design, but mine has "Made in Japan" molded in the back when any RAC tachs I've seen have been American made. Perhaps this is a later unit that was manufactured overseas by a subsidary of RAC, or simply a copied design made for less in Japan. I opened it up too...no clues as to the manufacturer were found.
