Is that a P-R-N-D-L for a Powerglide (2-speed)? If so, then your buddy's car wasn't a big block...

[/ QUOTE ]

Decodes to
07D = 4th week of July 1968
B = Blue interior paint
68 = 1968 Model year
11427 = 2 door Chevy II (does not indicate engine size)
102070 = Fisher Body number 102070
737 = Standard Dark Blue cloth bench seat
C = Ermine White
G = Ash Gold

Probably C-C

It is probably a 6 cylinder car that has been converted.

Is there any chance the original engine and i/p wiring harness still has the parnumber and 2 letter code tags?

Greg

The rad hold-down bracket is still the 6cyl version. The trans indicator is a powerslide. It was a 6 banger when new, and converted to a bb.
