Default Re: RS COPO from 1971

McDorman Chevrolet in Columbus sold an Azure Turquise COPO, whereabouts unknown.
Of the 5 cars that Frost sold, one was Burnished Brown, but I don't know if it was a RS car. The Rally Green car in Springfield, OH was not a RS. I am not familiar with the Black car. Whose car is that?
The 5th car is lost, to the best of my knowledge.
Show us some new pics, Eric!

Isn't the black RS Copo Ed Ernst's?

The brown one is also an RS and part of their second(?) order.

I believe that the early order cars were non RS.

One of the missing cars may have been Code:69 B X11(?)

Yes, the black RS car is Ed's.
I think it is at SCW right now being restored.

The brown car was an RS car too.
It is the next body number after mine (NOR111141).
Who owns the brown car now??? I haven't been able to find it after it sold at B-J.

Eric

Think the studded snow tires gave it any better traction?

[/ QUOTE ] Makes you wonder if the front chin spoiler was removed for added ground clearance?

Here's a link to a previous discussion on Ohio COPO dealers. Frost is included in the topic - https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat...=true#Post16337

This is some info on my car:

Vin: 647218 Body NOR 298357
TR 713 10B PNT
05C X11
Engine - T0512MN Trans - P9D19C Axle - BE 0512 G2
Other options: A01, D55, D80, N34, U17, U63, U80, Z22, VE3

It is currently at SCW for a resto and I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas (the attached pic is coming off the truck in Latrobe).

Mark B. gave me a lot of info about the car intially and hooked me up with the RG COPO owner. Somehow, Mark can ferret out these cars and has a lot of knowledge regarding local Midwest area COPOs.

With a big thanks to (Jeff S.) the owner of the RG Frost COPO who supplied me with the info, I have been fortunate enough to talk with the original owner of my car. He still lives in Mechanicsburg. His brother bought the aforementioned RG COPO. The son of the owner of Frost Chevrolet, as the story goes, was into Hi-Po cars (primarily 'Vettes) and was the guiding force behind getting these COPO cars ordered for the dealership. When he bought the black one around late August/early September '69, he recalled there being 4 COPO's on the lot black, rally green (soon to be bro's), dark blue and another dark color (possibly green). He owned my car about 6 months and traded it back to Frost for a '70 Nova. He then thinks the car may have gone to Marysville, OH off the used lot, but is not sure. Dave A., who owned the car previously to me, bought it off a used car lot in Springfield, OH in March of '75. So, it had been in the "area" all of its life.

The burnished brown Frost COPO (I'm familiar with) was built 09A and is an RS w/similar options. It was for sale a couple(?) of years back. I don't know who owns it now. I am currently under the impression that there may have been more than 5 COPOs at the Frost dealership.
