Said day for our hobby,Reath Automotive after 50 plus years of business closed today.Joe Reath, one of the pioners of the welded stroker cranks, and his wife Deli closed for good today.Joe sponsored many cars over the years including the Reath&Dunn dragster.Henry Valesco got his start with Joe.I will truley miss them.

Too bad these old shops couldn't capitalize on the nostalgia craze. Look at So-Cal, and Moon. They could probably make a living from Tee shirts, repro memorabilia, and other stuff.

Get the movie Funny Car Summer (1974). About Jim Dunn and has Reath Automotive and his shop in the film. Actually not a bad movie.

Ok Chuck, You are doing it again. You west coast guys are making me Stop with the Lions and Santa Ana and Fremont and San Gabriel and Half Moon Bay etc. Your killin me. I would like to spend about a month in your area just visiting all the old speed shops and drag strips that once were and still are.

Thanks for letting us know. Incredible that Joe and Delli were still going. Last time I spoke to Joe was about two years ago just to say hello. He always had a couple good new jokes up his sleeve. Joe built a couple small block chevys for me in the early 80's. The rock stock 302 with just headers absolutely screamed. There closing is the end of an era.
