I thought that I paid a decent price ($86) for a NOS GTO power antenna mast, but they're not available repro yet. I've never understood why some poeple will pay crazy $$ for a NOS bracket that, when refinished, is virtually undistinguisable from an unused piece! Engine internals are even more perplexing.

I can't figure the internal stuff either...unless you are putting them in a glass block. Some folks just want it exactly as it came from the factory I guess...good used stuff is not all that easy to find anymore. I guess if the auction is legit there are a lot of people that want the right stuff. You never know who you are bidding against on E bay though..and I bet a lot of folks get caught by sniping at the last second...2 or 3 guys who really want it, put in a goofy number in the last 10 seconds and someone is gonna pay more than they thought they would.

Bob,
-------You are a HOT-RODDER, plain and simple!!! I also like my engines to look stock but want to take advantage of technology today as well. We use new, upgraded gaskets when it means there is less chance of leaks, dont we??? I dont think I have restored a car in the last 15 years with an absolutely stock drivetrain and Im proud of it. although I do stay fairly true to the concept of the original motor. No soild lifters in hydraulic lifter motors, etc, etc.........Bill S |
