So, the 69 Yenko Deuce, which was a 350 right? Was that engine stock GM or Did Yenko "beef it up" ? New territory for me! Tks, Rich [/ QUOTE ] The 70 Yenko Deuce had its LT-1 350 factory installed as part of the COPO package. The engine was essentially the same one installed in the Z/28. The factory rating was 360hp, but Yenko removed this rating from the air cleaner decal, leaving only the "350" portion remaining. While I believe most were sold unmodified, its quite possible that some received some tuning/modifications at Yenko. Marlin might have some further documentation on this.

So, Strictly speaking, the 70 Deuce was no more powerful than a 70 Z28? I understand that there is a historical differance, and that affects value and desireability(sp) as much as performance does in some cases.
Thanks for the clearup!

Correct. Not more powerful than a LT-1 Z/28, just alot cooler. I think that's paraphrasing what you already said.

I emailed him asking about original engine, trans, bill of sale, POP and any other paperwork. Here's his answer..
"The car did not come with anything other than the sticker on the window. You might be able to get a list of vin numbers from cheverolet for the production order that this car came out of...not that important to me. Maybe if I was going to professionally restore it I would. I did not keep any of the original engine parts...I left them in a salvage yard after a race in Arkansas City, Kansas (blown up bad!!!)." Can't make out the emblem on the back SS panel on the right side. Almost looks like the Hurst/Olds emblem. |

The emblem you see is a "Hurst Equipped" aftermarket emblem... commonly found on ebay or in Summit/Jegs catalogs.

He said he threw away " all that stuff years ago" and said that the order form didn't show any of the special order stuff anyway.......
