www.THEDOOR.COM

from "the door" website; biography:

".......Even at this early stage, the band was looking for more. Someone suggested they check out the thriving Long Island, NY rock club scene. Bands like Twisted Sister, Rat Race Choir, and the Good Rats were cranking out significant rock 'n' roll in the late 70s, playing clubs like Speaks, Hammerheads, The Mad Hatter, and Chaucers Ale House. So, Zebra played its first Long Island gig on New Year's Eve 1976, at a club called "The 1890s" in the town of Baldwin."

Bruce, you are causing me to have some significant flashbacks. I remember now that Zebra did some pretty cool Led Zeppelin covers.
I can vaguely remember the 1890's club. I believe there was a large amount of second hand smoke at these events. Thank goodness I havent suffered any permanent damage.

Bruce, I remember back when Zebra was the local bar band. They played a place called "Speaks" in Island Park (about 8mi south of Baldwin)with other soon to be forgotten rockers such as "Twisted Sister" and my local favorite "The Good Rats".

I just cant believe how much I've forgotten over the years myself, only to have it revived on Yenko.net !!
