Great old pictures here thanks for sharing! The RED/RED 1964 Corvette has quite an interesting history. It was built for the 1964 New York Worlds Fair. Later Alex Maier bought the car as a birthday present for his 16 year old son. The kid kept the car until the late 80's. Later in 2001 Mike Yager bought the 1964 Corvette. Ironically Werner Meier who had failed to buy the Corvette was given the assignment of restoring it at his shop in Michigan. Today it still retains most of the unique features it was built with for the show circuit.

------Thanks so much for the great pics. All are interesting, but I find the 64 GTO, the big Poncho convert, Excaliber, and the small-block Cobra convert all very, very cQQl......Bill S

Those pics are way cool. WOW, prices posted also. Now lets take a look at the crowd (or lack of it) and everyone dressed in their Sunday best. Just like the ol' ball games. Times have really changed.

Don't you know those two Corvettes had teenage boys drooling all over themselves! I wonder if the silver metallic blue color led to all the tri-fives that were painted that color in the mid to late 60s?

Looks like a scene from the The Road Warrior.
