The headers were never shipped in the trunk. That is just a car magazine perpetuated myth. They were over-the-counter parts that you had to purchase at the dealer parts department. The only time they came in the trunk was when you bought them at the parts counter and took them home.

In 1967 they had four Z28 RPO codes. I also believe this was true for 68, but not 1969.
-Z28-1 Base package -Z28-2 Cowl Plenum Included -Z28-3 Headers Included -Z28-4 Headers and cowl plenum Included The headers and cowl plenum were in boxes in the trunk, with the other new car prep stuff, like antenna, hubcaps. They could be installed at the dealer at extra cost or owner installed at home.

Charlie I think you're wrong about me saying that I'm right about paceme agreeing with me in the first place. I now disagree with anyone who would agree with me. Where's Abbott and Costello when you need them?

A red 67 Z that myself and a friend had for a very short time had the cowl plenum on it and Zedder ended up with the car, dont remember if it had any paperwork, but another red 67 that we had that was in Hawaii for a whyle and was a Canada car with paper work and it was a cowl plenum and header car and had paperwork and im sure it showed the options and something about shipping.
