OK, I am completely confused by the wording on that poster.

Is he trying to say that this is a clone with the engine from car #62?

Here's the quote at the bottom of the poster: "In a world where you can have one or the other it is nice to at least have One than not have any at all"??????

If you are not completely confused, please, let me keep talking !!

"Is he trying to say that this is a clone with the engine from car #62?" - yes, as vaguely as possible.

You are correct Steve. I've been wondering for a couple of years now about when this car would be discussed. It is a beautiful car that is built around the original #62 engine. The actual #62 car is also accounted for and had a NOM engine in place. So in essence, there are two (2) #62 cars. Always liked that particular car due to the fact of it being the only red-on-red car produced. This is a new, undiscovered method of doubling production numbers for rare, limited edition cars. Just think of a worm splitting in two.

The lawyers would have a field day with his choice of words in that poster. Saying that "This car not only retains the correct matching number..." is specificaly implying that it was this particular car's engine to begin with. You cannot retain something that did not originate with that car from the factory. It cannot be matching number if it doesnt match the VIN of the car it is bolted in to.

What he should have said was: "This car CONTAINS the engine..."

Even a first year law student (or a fifth grade English Teacher) could win this case.

My crystal ball says that if this car sells and the buyer later claims he was mislead by that advertisement, there will be a buyback in the future.

BTW, it is an awesome looking car, though. I do love red on red cars.

I've spoken with the owner of this car and the #62 engine has been offered to the owner #62 car but they could not come to a financial agreement. I don't know what to think of the whole thing. It's a beautiful car and it's kind of neat that there's actually two red-on-red #62 cars (except to the owner of the only real one) for the public to enjoy seeing. At least the engine's not in some speed boat or street rod.
