Yes, Moomaw Chevy is still open. It has been there for a very long time. It is a cool little dealership in a small town. My Father In Law bought his first new car there, a 1960 Chevy convertible. The owner of the dealership, Mr. Moomaw, was talking to Steve and I during the car show.. He is a real nice guy. He is also the salesman that my Father In Law bought his car from. My father In Law was also at this show, but not with that car..

An Americana setting if ever there was on.
Do you have any old interior/exterior pictures of the dealership taken within the last 40-50 years?
How about any older showroom display items packed away in their attic/basement?

No, unfortunately I do not have any photos of the inside of the dealership. You can also bet that Big Steve and I checked with the owner about any old Chevy displays or stuff that might be laying around . Unfortunately that stuff is gone per the owner . There are a couple of cool, older signs that are hanging on the walls in the parts/service area, but those are staying with the dealership.

I do have some dealership memorabilia items from there such as snow scrapers, ball cap, front dealer plates and an old plate frame. I even checked with the parts manager about any older items that might be laying around in the attic and he stated that they got rid of a lot of stuff several years back...

VERY, VERY NICE CHEVELLE!!

I agree, but I've always liked the '68 Chevelle.

Your Nova has me curious. Isn't it somewhat unusual to have a vinyl roof without the bright trim around the windows? Not by any means questioning the accuracy; it just seems like the two options would go together.

Lovin BOTH cars.

Hey Steve, are those vintage TTOs on your Camaro?

Rich - that is one sweet looking Nova . Don't know if I like the Cragar S/Ss or the dog dishes better.

Where is that Moomaw dealership located? I had a Moomaw family live next door to me as a kid for awhile in Canfield. Pretty unusual name, bet they're related.

Dennis, I agree with you the bright trim work looks nice with the vinyl top. But the bright trim work around the windows came only with the custom exterior and exterior decor packages RPO ZJ2 & RPO ZJ5 respectively. My car did not have either option originally therefore, no moldings.. She is just a "Plain Jane".
Steve's car does have period correct TTs on it..

Sam, I am not sure where the Moomaw family is from.. I think they were mainly from around Tuscarawas County, Sugarcreek area..

Thanks guys for the nice compliments!!

Dennis, those are the old "Gennie" wheels from 65...14X7 straight spoke. They are Americans and the biggest PITA to find in usuable condition.I bought them in pairs and restored them to period correct.I have a NOS one I used as a template... I made a fixture and restored all the lug holes and center cap holes on a CNC mill.I recently found several sets of the old lugs to complete the period look.

Mr Moomaw was quite a gentleman . He gave me a personal tour of his dealership and spent about a hour giving me it's history. He was very proud of his dealership and it's survival in todays age of the googleplex chain dealers. His pride has always been in his service.I believe he said it started out as a Overland dealer..Yes, he asked for my number and said he would call if he found "anything" I may be interested in.

Thanks for the pic Rich...and yes Mike, I've often been call handicapped Can't wait to be out at Solon Commons..

Steve

Rich,
I actually like the look of your car without the brite trim. Plain Jane does it for me.

Steve,
Cool wheels. Wanna do some more? I have a set of vintage 14 x 7s too. Slated to go on a White '69 Nova soon!
