Best price I could get was $294.00 installed and that was a factory ford glass.

Most insurance companies don't have a deductable on glass replacement. Check with your's before you do anything.

Ditto on checking with your insurance company -- Don't know about Ohio, but here in Florida windshield replacement by law is exempt from a deductable. One company even gives YOU $25 (and another a box of steaks) if you use them for the windshield replacement under insurance coverage.

Good luck, BCD.

Ditto... SC replacement of glass is deduct free... and must be covered by Insurance... good idea.. otherwise you get idiots running around not being able to see out of their vehicles!

A few years ago I called my broker asking about coverage on a monster-size tree that had fallen over in my yard.. Their response was no coverage for trees themselves, only for things they may hit when falling..
So simple enough, out came the trusty Pioneer and I got rid of it myself..
A year later I noticed my claims free discount was gone and when asked was told any inquiry is noted and considered pending and a claim yet possible...so goodbye claims free discount!.
Simple enough again...gonzo w/ these guys and onto a new group!.

There is a HUGGGGEEEEEE mark-up on glass. you might try your friendly (personal friend) body shop who might get up to 60% off from the Glass company. They then pass that 40% onto the customer without getting their hands dirty.
