The first picture below shows the DATE of mfg, plant location & shift on 70 Camaro subframe.

2nd and third pics show Jack Seymours Unrestored, Unmolested, Original 70 Z-28 hidden VIN stamping.
LOOK on inside firewall area with Blower Motor removed

Links are only two of MANY at www.nastyz28.com. If you were too search (VIN number stamp or sub frame VIN) at the most informative 2nd gen Camaro web site, you could read volumn's on this subject

In conclusion there are NO other complete VIN numbers stamped on body or frame other than under fan plenum on firewall.

If you have evidence showing otherwise, the 2nd Gen LEGENDS judges at the American Camaro Assoc "Camaros at Carlisle" this June 20-22, would welcome the education!!!!!!!

I can only speak for my car when I say the partial VIN was stamped in two different places on the firewall.

The 2nd Gen enthusiasts at www.nastyz28.com have never seen evidence of any other body/frame VIN stamping.

That's not true. I recall seeing posts about the subframe VIN on NastyZ28.com. I then looked at my subframe to see if I could find one and I did. Unless I was dreaming it. I'll take a look when I get home.

Chuck you are 100% correct. That was the picture and thread I was thinking of. My apologies.. Here is mine somewhat faint at the beginning of the stamp.

3 - March
10 - Day
70 - Year
N - Are we certain that's Norwood? My car is LA...
2 - Shift

If the "N" stands for Norwood, what does "S" stand for? I have a 1970 Firebird subframe with a S instead of N on it.

Was not the 70 Firebird, built either at Norwood,OH or VanNuys(LA), CA ???????

Maybe you can ask at the Performance Years Pontiac web site (???)

Camaro frames should only have the (N)orwood or (L) Los Angeles designation...........

I guess my point is that Camaros and Firebirds WERE built on the same line so I don't think the "N" stands for Norwood. I think I will run over to my other garage and look at my 72 and 74 Camaros and see what they have on them if anything. They are both Norwood cars.
