I had the pleasure of spending a couple of days helping Steven put up some of his collection on display. It truly is a labour of love.

A quick story. One of the items on display was an entry form for a give-away. At the grand opening someone actually filled out one of the forms. Steven took it well, he just smiled. I think the person was of the female persuasion, I'm certain that helped.

I never thought about survivability of the collection but Steven is quite accurate. A lot of the items are very fragile or downright disposable....like a paper kite, when I was a kid that kite would have gone up and down and in the garbage can. The collection is truly one of those "special places".

Back to Dave's signs......congrats to him. I'm still sad to see the dismantling of a "special place". It will be difficult for anyone to put what he had together again.

Fred you also had hand in Daves collection. I'll never forget when I first met you at Barrett Jackson and Dave was looking for signs. He was about to purchase reproductions and you said "Thats a big mistake, you have one of the best collection of original pedigreed cars and you're going to hang reproduction sign up over them...you gotta be kidding me". You know when Fred talks most people listen..... and this original sign collection may have been a result.
