A little more progress, as we now have the floor fitted.
We had to do a lot of repair work to the rockers/inner rockers, as someone had decided to drive a large punch through the bottoms of the rockers for drainage or something. We also felt the best way to get at the holes and jack damage on the outer rocker, was to remove the inner rocker. After a lot of cleaning, welding and grinding, as well as some primer sealer to the inner rocker, and POR 15 applied to the inside of the outer rocker, we were ready to affix the inner rockers to the new floor pan. I originally was going to use a floor out of another car, but we realized the pan was slightly tweaked from a wreck the donor car had, and there was some small rust holes starting in the driver's footwell, that grew as I tried to weld them. With that, decided to use a good repo pan. We'll have to remove the bucket seat brackets off it, and later put in a good used bench seat floor hump. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I like it, too! Soon, you and "the Dr. of Steel" will have more room to 'operate'
One question....are the repro floor pans available with bench seat mounts and 4 speed hump? Not that I need it, just curious.

We'll know for sure soon. I don't think there are any floors with the bench seat shift hump already installed, but I didn't look very much for that as I've had this new floor in stock here for a few years. I don't remember seeing any suppliers with that option years ago anyway. |

Very nice work repairing the vehicle. One question I have , are you sandblasting in the garage -and if so what type of equipment are you using or method of keeping the mess down ?. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, John |

Thanks, John </div></div> John, No sandblasting will be done in the garage or here at all. After we are done with our metal repair and replacement, but before we hang the quarter panels, the body shell will go on to a rotisserie. Then when all is done, we have a guy who will come get the shell on the rotisserie, soda blast it, and return it to us for final body smoothing, etc. |

Thanks Rick, I'm kinda at the point you are with my project, but I'm leery of putting it back on the rotisserie with the quarters off. Are you planning to add bracing? I hope I'm not derailing your thread and apologize if I am.
John. |
