Last night I went to a local cruz with my 68 Camaro
Parked the car and lifted the hood and spent 3 hours at the show I then closed the hood and then tried to started the car, as soon as I turned the ignition key the battery exploded. It was witnessed by many people. The battery was about 1/12 years old. It was properly installed, the alternator is charging properly. I quickly opened the hood and doused the enjine compartment with water and Baking soda mix. I also took it to a spray car wash and pressure washed the area. There was no noticeable damage to the paint. Whyle I was busy fixing the problem I had lots of help form great car guys. One person drove me to his home lent me another battery and I got home no problem. It just so happened that a GM rep was there and told me that GM was having a lot of problems with the Delco battery and that they would be responsible for the damage. He gave me a number to call to report this incidend.Have anybody else had a problem with Delco car Batteries.
