Thanks Andy and Mike. Nice history. It's a shame the glass is bad, nothing cooler than a 58 year old parking permit sticker

This reminds me of the 1941 Ford Convert. That my dad bought from the original owners about 1962. It is still sitting in the garage @ my mom's where it has not moved since then. Dad died in 1999 and I sold my share of the car to my brother who never did anything with it. He just sold the car to my sister and her other half. I have my fingers crossed. What is neat about that car is that the original owner was a traveling salesman and wanted something that "moved". It still has all of the speed parts that he put on it back in the day. Edelbrock alumn heads, Offy intake, dual Strombergs, etc.... and I can't forget about the Columbia 2 speed rear. My sister claims that they are going to do the car right in a couple of years.

Best of luck with the time capsul. They are still out there.

Well, it took a while, but the deed is done. I post a whole bunch of pics on the H.A.M.B. (That's Hoakey Ass Message Board, for guys like me who had no idea what that meant). Nice folks, as long as you avoid mentioning the word "Camaro".
Here is the link to the whole thread.

Okay, I think those guys on that board are crazy for wanting to keep a '32 over a Camaro.

You did the right thing by letting your friend deal with it.

Time to update this story. The restoration has begun, and while these photos were taken on a cell phone, they give a good idea of what is going on.

That knob looking thing in the middle is a factory option cigar lighter.

The firewall is remarkably rust free.

Here is a link to the HAMB thread, picked up from where I posted these photos.

I will never again think that we have had some real clowns here. Compared to those guys, we are all proper gentlemen who lift our pinkies when we sip our tea. Talk about a tough crowd.

Those guys are a crack up for sure...lots of cussing to boot. There is a thread about a guy in Mexico who has found some incredible cars. He has posted plenty of pics and the thread is very very long...beware.
