Bruce,

Your daughter must feel like the most incredible blessing in the world to you. That's great news. I'm sure you have covered it before, but, how long will the yearly cath prodeure be required? Will there come a time that won't be necessary?

Take care,

Mark

Thanks again everyone...Holly will be on in a bit.

Mark, as far as when these yearly heart caths may become unnecessary...that will depend on technology, data capture or both of these combined with other stuff (I know I am not making sense).

They are doing them once a year because the transplant center that she was transplanted at discovered that there were some cases of coronary artery disease showing up in some of the kids at an early age...and it was severe enough that it killed some of them. Before that was discovered, we had heart caths every other year.

On the other hand, they are comparing results from the "every three months" ultrasounds/xrays/check ups against the findings of the heart caths to see if there are any correlations or discrepancies.

They also have some non-invasive testing (in experimental stages) waiting in the wings as well (kind of like an ultrasound).

So at this point, we do what is asked...and hope for the best!

Also, I need to say something... all of (gals, too!)
