Here is wishing Verne a speedy recovery. I understand a detached retina can be caused by rapid acceleration!!!

Also cause by rapid deceleration and even sneezing. I remember several years ago when this happened to Don Garlits after he put two larger than normal parachutes on a new dragster. They blossomed that hard.

More likely to happen under deceleratiion. I think that was also the major factor in Joe Amato's retirement.

Thanks guys. I think I know who that guy is in that picture up there, and sure ain't me.

Every birthday is a blessing. In 2000 my cardiologist told me a had about 5 years left to live. Somehow I seem to have healed myself. Now he says I can expect a "normal" life-span (unless it decides to get worse again). He agreed that I'm a onepercentilier. I congratulated him on being wrong and he said he was glad he was, which was the only time he was wrong about a patient.
Now it's on to more projects and life
I have another 409 car that needs to get done by the summer.

Verne, I think you should sue that doctor for malpractice. He said you had 5 years to live back in 2000 and you're still going strong, 11 years later.

In my lawyer book that equals 6 extra years of pain, suffering and emotional distress you have had to endure so far, after being forced to exceed that 2005 expiration date.

Happy Birthday, fellow Joysey Boy!
