I think that these are all relatively minor things. If it's the original engine and bulletproof paperwork as he says, he has very little to worry about.

Hell, I ASK these guys on the site to pick my car apart and tell me what isn't correct! The knowledge here is the best there is.

Jake ... you brought up a point that is worth discussion . Nothing wrong with any of us who critique a car to look at how we articulate our points. In the end I think what is done here helps the hobby and those involved. I do not think the intent is to exclude anyone from the hobby or the site. It is to simply make information available that is discussed by many people and in the end draws a popular consensus about what is correct on any given car discussed. This site and threads like this one have been invaluable to me in restoring or correcting issues with my first gen Camaros

I believe the stripe is correct for such an early car. However, my Norwood 68 built in December still had the black ash tray with the simulated wood surround on the dash. I also noticed that the dash pad does not have the stainless steel trim along the bottom.

I think I saw another thing missing. I am not sure if this is just on 69's but I guess it would be on 67-68's as well.
I am talking about the bracket that holds the parking brake cables. It is mounted on the inner most front bolt of the axle sping pearch. This is a picture from a 69 Z who has this bracket. ![]() And here is the car inquestion: ![]() Jan |

The style of stripe is correct; how they applied it is not. It should end at the front bumper, not continue around the fender.

He states “bulletproof documentation” in the second to last sentence. I would think that’s factory paperwork such as a Warranty Plate or window sticker.
You’re right, he doesn’t state original engine, he did have a picture of the pad posted yesterday and he listed the numbers from the block in his write-up. I’m sure that that question is being asked directly by anyone interested in the car. I wonder why he pulled the picture of the pad? |
