Well I have made some progress, after alot of research I realized that my fondest memories of hot rods started around 10, I remember cutting out pictures and hanging them on my closet door and I had two uncles that really built some great cars when I was young. So my infuential time period starts in 1980 and with research I rediscovered the Car Craft street machine nations of that era. So I am not doing a period correct day 2 replication but instead a street machine nationals car, pre tubbed era. I am no where near done or is it perfect but some work is complete so I thought I would share some pics.
Something cool about the work done is some of the parts are true family original that were donated to the project. ![]() Changes made, hood pins, USA plate, toe tabs, wheels and tires ![]() This is my actual graduation tassel ![]() ![]() The boot and Hurst shifter handle came from my uncles 71 Chevelle circa 1982, can you figure out the boot I made some custom modifications to it. ![]() This plate came off of my first car a 1964 chevy, trim ring from ebay ![]() ![]() Thank you so much for all of the great inspiration and ideas, keep on building. |

Very nice! My 70 Chevelle had a CC Nationals West decal from 1980. I wish I had kept the decal!
