You said they have had the car since 1969? How did the dealer get him the missing info?

Tracy...We need pics, something more than the story. Every once in awhile we seem to get a new person on the site with some kind of similar tale but 99% of the time it turns out to be just a tale. I want to thank everyone that has refrained from making accusations and is letting this play out. If this is real it is a great event and we are lucky to be able to share in it. Hurry Tracy hurry.....

I believe this guy advertised on Craigslist in Seattle a few months ago, inherited ZL1 Copo, sitting since '74, all original, paperwork, etc.... for $ 75k with a phone number. Ok, I called and he said it was a blue RS Copo ZL1, deluxe interior, white vinyl top (sounds like a ZL1 we know), didn't really care about the car because he had 30 cars and would send pics of the paperwork. I explained that the RS ZL1 Camaros are already known and he thought maybe the dealer installed the ZL1. He never sent pics of the paperwork, he was too busy. A nice story, who knows what he may or may not have, certainly not an original RS ZL1 Camaro.

Hello. Tracy has allowed me to use his login. I'm the owner of this car and Tracy is a friend/co worker. He took an interest in the car and took the time to help me research it. My grandpa was friends with the dealer and he made this car a reality back in 69. Ive spoken with the son and grandson of the original dealer. The son has known about this car since he was a teenager. He detailed it before it was given to my grandpa and has always been curious about what happen to it. Its a shame that i didnt do my part years ago to find out how truly rare this car is. I now have a decision to make. Ive never lived in Seattle. I live in the south. The cars color is hugger orange and it has 5977 original miles. I still have the original tires vacuum sealed and the original battry. I have had to replace the belts and fuel pump. I still have the original fuel pump. The weatherstripping has deteriorated over the years. I appreciate the info you have given us and again i have a big decision to make. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to post. Any more info that could be beneficial please let us know.

The owner of the selling dealership for ZL1 # 67 is still around, I talked to him at the last MCACN show. I'm surprised the son and grandson didn't let you know he's still alive and kicking? He might be able to help you out with original paperwork on the car?
I did talk to someone in area code 509 regarding grandpa's old ZL1 copo, blue rs, etc.... It must have been another grandpa's original ZL1, they keep turning up lately, especially on Craigslist. |

![]() Some sources indicate ZL1 #67 as known scrapped/destroyed? Also, Charley's commented before that ZL1 #67 was traded back in on #66? Hope things turn out that the genuine car is alive & well!
