Steve still has plenty of money and cars. If anyone knows him they know he uses only nos or orig. parts in his testosterone. I think the top was the only part he had to reproduce. He is the only guy still alive in his cancer treatment group. I think the last straw on the nightclub was a off duty police officer stated under oath he saw a drug deal going down inside by looking in the front window. Steve wondered how he saw thru the window when they were fake Windows. They still voted to shut him down.

Its been mentioned before -- but whoever ripped this Cuda' off is in a pickle ... now what the hell are they going to do with it? Send it across the pond? Part it out? etc. etc. Just like a dog chasing a car -- if the pooch catches it ... what will he do with it?? TAZ

Guys, stop with the overseas claims. The customs processes make smuggling a car across borders very difficult especially (as claimed here) the mode of transport is sea or air freight. Come on...

Wow . . . kinda just emailed a friend with a similar response. The overseas explanation is a cliche. Were people saying the same thing about COPO Pete's Camaro? Let the cops do their job and let Steve deal with his loss in peace. |

Do some reading or talk to some LEOs. Even a simple Google search will turn up countless articles. I do wish the owner all the best in all areas of his life, but that's not what's being discussed here.

But an old Mopar that rattles? Perhaps "cliche" is not the right word - how about "gossip?" I think Steve knows enough not to read about this on forums - strangers fantasizing about his current situation would get annoying to even the most thick-skinned NYer. |

Please explain to me what a "would-be Encyclopedia Browns" is? This was just a discussion, not supposed to be anything personal though apparently you thick skinned New Yowka appear to have taken something personal. A lot guys don't "fantasize" about what happens to million dollar thefts (Mopar that rattles lol), they know what happens more often than not. Pull your head out of the sand. Grand Cherokees? That's funny. Ferraris, Lambos and a ton of Range Rovers etc are constantly being pulled out of conex boxes. Not gossip. Fact. I hope that's not what happened here and I hope this guy gets his car back in the same shape it left him...

Steve is a hero amongst the Mopar crowd. His collection and preservation of Mopar memorabilia has helped validate many discussions over the years. Like everyone else has noted, what they hell do crooks do with a car of this nature? They're up a creek with no paddle. Their best bet is to dump it like what happened with Papa John's Camaro.

That car is gone. Like Chicago, if something needs to disappear, it will. I used to detail cars as a kid (to help pay for my college education) for one of the largest scrap metal companies in Chicago. I became very close to the owners, and did all their cars and some of their special trophy trucks, I would deliver the cars to different locations when done (different yards), as they paid me very well. What you see go into the crusher at times, will only say, this car will be gone in a big city. Just picture in your head, some of the scenes in the movie, gone in 60 seconds. I will bet a bunch of white castle burgers, it will never be seen again.
How a car, in a high profile collectors hands, is not in view of a security camera, is a head scratcher for me. |
