From the limited coverage on TV, my favorite car was that R-code Fairlane. Very cool car.

Who is Goldberg? I was told the other Bidder on the "Lawman" was a Professional Wrestler. It sounds as if I gave up too soon. I wouldn't know if all old race cars bring high dollars, but this one with it's unique history appears to have.

I thought the Lawman would go at least $150K as I have seen a few historical drag cars in the 150-200 range. The Lawman has a more interesting history then many of the other ones. That may not have been the best place to sell a car like that. here is a web site on the Lawman.

Kevin,
I am no speculator but I think this would have been a very good investment. This was very big news during the Viet Nam era and I think this cars value will like keep climbing. I can recall many stories my brother told me about these cars on his tour. Quite a history.

I am aware of some of the history of the Lawman and would prefer the 1964 Fury Hardtop Race car. I don't follow the race cars but had heard that the Mustang sold was the back up car??? So who has the other one?

The recycler. A shipping crate fell on the car during rough seas on the way overseas and crushed it.

Dana was bidding for "PuffDaddy". Thats Puff with a beer in his hand, next to him. If you look close you can see 'ssl78' pinching him everytime he bid.

If you know of another survivor quailty L78-4 speed Rag Top Camaro of the same calibur for less, let me know I'm in.

Even 1970 L78-4speed Ragtop Chevelles are bringing six figures

Kevin,

I think the next time you go to an auction, you need to have a satelite linked laptop so you can research cars on the spot. This looks like it was a "keeper". The "Lawman" Al Eckstrand was quite a racer while with Chrysler.

Yeah, but if I got stubborn and bid him up to $175K, he may have come to look me up. Body-Slam, on the mat, ouch!
