I'm sorry for your loss. My wife and I are big pet people. Our dogs are like kids with fur. A good dog is the best friend you will ever have. Remember the good times.

I Feel very sorry for your loss! I have a Wiemeraner that has been with me for 11 years. He became very ill a couple of years ago from pancreatitis and cost me about $1800.00 to save him.All I can say is I thought that was very CHEAP to save my pet.I would have spent much more!I know the day is coming that I will loose him,and I know that pets really can never be replaced by another one.It is very sad when this sort of thing happens, but you will always hold a special place in your Heart for Max,just as I will for my Pet Lucky.Just try to comfort your self knowing that he is not suffering anymore and that he will always be remembered in your hearts forever! You will always have fond memories of Max.

That's tough. My boxer is real sick right now and I hate the thought she might not make it.

They say That its gods way of preparing us for death by the animals not living as long as humans, for some reason I never seem to be prepared for it either way.
Sorry for your loss

Sorry to hear about "Max". I had A Dog named "Oreo" for about 14 years that grew up on dog food, ice cream sandwiches and chocolate... At fourteen he seemed as healthy as most younger dogs in the area and the Vet often told me his heart was as healthy as any dog half his age. We took good care of Oreo , even holding him down to clean his teeth on occasion. His hearing started to go and the neighbor didn't see him one day while backing his car. I knew he was hurt and the Vet said he might be okay but was in shock and would lose one front leg so I had to make A decision and live with it. Oreo was an outside pet that ran and visited all my area neighbors (for more food of course) so I couldn't see him deal with that at his age. He was about 25 lbs and mostly cocker spaniel with A few other nice varieties thrown in the mix.. I was inroduced to Oreo when I was about 13 and lost him 14 years later. You never forget your best friend.... I wonder what he really thought of me when I used to smear peanut buter on the roof of his mouth? It doesn't matter, it was hilarious to watch and I'd do it again.

As a veterinarian I have to deal with sick and dying animals way too often. I had to put my golden retreiver to sleep last year, it was one of the worst days of my life. One of my clients brought me this poem and now I send it all of my clients that have lost one of thier pets:
There is a rainbow bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called " The Rainbow Bridge" because of its many colors. Just this side of The Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water, and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing. They are not with thier special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when suddenly one stops playing and looks up! The nose twiches...the ears are up... the eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross The Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated!

Sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry for your loss. I have had dogs my whole life and I feel for you; it's like losing a child. I hope there was no pain involved in the passing.
