thanks guys it is a neat car and would be nice to know much more history on it. From what the prior owner said the car was drag raced locally for some time early in its life. I am calling a guy that used to race a ss/aa dart at the same track in the same era. He actually has some footage of the races. We might get some info there. I will get those photos asap.

The emblems look like the ones that would have been installed on a 1967 427 Impala, so I can see them using the emblems, but anyone could go to a dealership and order them from the parts dept. I'm not saying this was the case with this car but you need more evidence like the engine pad info, casting numbers on the back of the block, what heads are on the motor, intake, etc. With no paperwork and no way to look at the cars history (THANK YOU HOMELAND SECURITY), its going to take a deeper look at the characteristics of this particular car... The prior owner states that the motor in the car is a 396. I think I may have confused you guys on that earlier. The 427 is supposedly not in the car. He bought the car from his brother with the motor out. He stated that his brother offered him $16,000 to buy the car back. Back when the car was running with the 396 in it not the way it is now. The brother is gone. I mean way gone. In that the case the motor won't tell us anything right?

Has nothing to do with Homeland Security and everything to do with a Hollywood actress being hunted down and murdered at her front door out in California a few years back by some lunatic who got her address info from the local motor vehicle office. The result was a Federal and well as local law in every state that now restricts the information going out on ownership history.

That will be a really cool find if you can get some history and documentation on the car to show it is a real Nickey car.
