Wow! Stouts in Reading? Keith, how did you end up with the car, I thought your uncle bought it new? I might be getting my rallye green cars confused, but isn't this the dunn&grasso car - or was that the other RG car you had??

Hi Marlin,

You got some of the story correct and some not. Yes my car was owned by Bob Grasso (as in Dunn & Grasso Performance) Bob was my wife’s uncle (by marriage). Back in the late seventies and early eighties at the same time Bob had 2 1969 Rally Green Yenko Camaros. One was an automatic, black stripe sold new at Marshall Chevrolet. The other RG car was a 4-speed car, white stripe, black vinyl top sold at new Karen Chevrolet, now my car. I never claimed Bob to be the original owner. As a matter of fact Bob never titled my car but owned it for some time.

Regarding Bob as the original owner, I have no idea how many owners the car had before me. I think you may be thinking of the fact my car’s NJ title indicates an “A” prefix. I believe the “A” was used in NJ whenever a car moved to NJ from another state? My car was in PA before I owned it.

I have owned my car for about 25 years and have known the car longer, but don’t know it’s complete history from day one. Some of that may be changing if I can verify that Nazareth Motorcar did own my car. I would like to know the VIN of his old car.

I hope this helps.

Keith

yep, thanks for the history, I keep thinking that you were the guy that owned two RG Yenkos at once! The other RG Yenko that Grasso owned is now in the Cliff Ernst collection!

My search continues for a Marshall sold Yenko Camaro, most are accounted for, including one I've been searching for over the years - but, it centerpunched a tree in MD, was parted out, and the back half made into a couch

Yes, Cliff Ernst purchased that car from Bob about a year or 2 after I got the 4 speed. I wanted that one too, but couldn't justify the extra $20,000. How dumb am I?

On the Yenko couch, damn that is one expensive place to put your a**.

Don't beat yourself up over the other green one, I also passed on a few of Cliff's project status '69 Y-Camaro's in that price range - but I was ass-deep into the deuce

The guy with the couch doesn't know that it's from a Yenko, neither did the guy who wrecked it and parted it out. When he bought the car it was red, SB, a/t, SS stuff all over it, etc.... He swore it was an SS, till I asked him if he ever found any green paint on the car. He was shocked, and revealed that it was indeed green under the sill plates - he about fainted when I informed him that he totalled a highly optioned Yenko Camaro from PA.

Just to be safe, I asked him where the firewall went. He replied that the damage was so severe that the engine was shoved into the firewall and pushed it back several inches. The driveshaft came up through the floor boards, the roof was bent and twisted as were the rockers. I'm trying to find a pic of the wreck, but no luck so far. What a shame.

Marlin,

How long have you had the deuce? I was all over the Philadelphia area in my Camaro back in the day. Did we ever cross paths?

Probably not, I bought it in '96 - so I'm going on 11 years now I finished the resto in June of '01 - our first baby was due in Sept of '01, so that provided the incentive to get it done I lived in an apartment in Hatboro when I bought it, kept it there for a few months before finding space in Perkasie where I did the resto. So, I have never driven it in the Philly area - although I did my share of street racing and cruising on the Blvd, front st, red lion rd, woodhaven, etc...
