The car was priced - it'll cost someone $59,500 to save it. Granted, it's high for a 6 Cylinder convertible, but how many 1 owner/P-O-P cars are left. Sure wish it'd get saved, I just cant afford to be the one to step up...

Does anyone here know of anybody using one of the Dynacorn bodies ? We've all seen the mag articles and the TV shows but who has actually bought one? It would be nice to hear from an unbiased user on how usable they are.....Maybe more decent Camaros will suffer the same fate as this 69 because of issues with the new body's...Is it more cost effective to rebuild a junk Camaro than to buy a new repro body ?????.....For as long as they've been out, I felt I would have heard or read about more being used.....

Last year in Carlisle my brother and I were looking at the display body they had there, and when i asked the guy who is actually buying them, he told us "alot of guys with Yenkos and COPOs are buying them and building clones to drive so they don't have to take out their real cars that are too nice to drive." I called his bluff and told him I knew of no Yenko owners that had any plans to build a reproduction clone of their car to drive.

Thanks Joe...That's my point...With the internet and the vast info at our fingertips......Who's got one? Or is it the fact they are doing a rebody keeping them silent?

Did you look at the body they had in carlisle? Anyone doing a rebody with one of those aint gonna be hiding anything from anybody for too long.

Look at the seller of the convertible's ended auctions. Looks like he used a coupe Dynacorn body to build a car.

GUYS,
As you see from our website we build some pretty high end cars. We were on the lookout for a solid convertible doner and found the convertible you guys are talking about. We wont use the repop bodys due to fit and other concerns. Also, they are not 69 camaros. They are repop Bodys that RESEMBLE 69 camaros. We wont use them. Period! The twin turbo that was just sold on ebay was actually the display car for detroit speed (dse). We purchaced it because it was about as nice of a body as you could find. All original panels... floors ect.. A great car to start with . If you were spending $130,000 on a custom camaro or any other kind of car would you want a car that started out as a rusty piece of crap? Of course not!! We could go out and find a nice "ss" (as they all are nowadays) and only find out after we put it on the rotissary that is all mudded up with repop floors ect... I know its kind of a sin but on the business side its the right car to make another twin turbo out of. I had like 50 people ask about the parts and I emailed a bunch the first nite and had people telling me i'm crazy on the prices because "you can buy a brand new carpet set for 99 bucks " or " new A/C is only a grand !! " thats why i decided to ebay the stuff.... I really dont like parting it out but maybe the parts can go in a REAL 396 car that needs it !!! It is a 6 cylinder car but it is a survivor too. If sombody wants to buy it, call me. 59500.00 Why should i sell it for any less, so i can buy a "real SS" for 45000.00 only to find out is garbage under all that nice paint? I hope you see my side... steve keech sarasota florida www.carsbyss.com

Steve
I appreciate what you are saying and your concern about wanting to start your project with a nice original rust free car. However, am I missing something here 59,500.00. Are you saying that you can't find a nice donor car for less. I find that had to believe. I am always looking for donor cars for my business and granted nice ones are hard to find but they're out there. I purchased this running driving 69 4 months ago for 7,500.00. Factory V8, 4sp, 95% rust free, all original GM body panels, fenders, doors, floors, etc. I have another complete 307 69 a little more complete but just as rust free and original and I paid 9,500.00 for it. I'll trade either one to you straight up for the white 6 cyl car, if all you need is an original rust free donor car. On second thought if they're worth that much maybe I'd better hold to them. Sincerely if finding you a nice rust free donor car will save the 6 cyl car let me know I'm sure I can find one for way less than 45K. ![]() ![]()
