Default Any list of where '69 Camaro ZL-1s are?

Is there any compiled list of what has happened to the cars? My father was the original owner of one. I know that it was fathom green. He purchased it at Lawrence Hall Chevrolet in Texas, but I think it was ordered from another dealership.

After a few years, my father decided to sell it because he needed a truck. He traded it in and then had second thoughts about it and went to get it back. Unfortunately, as soon as it had been traded in, it was sold. A man had been calling the dealership for 3 years about the car.

Anyway, I was just trying to find out some info about the car. The color narrows it down to 12 cars, but other than that, I have no idea which one it was.

Thank you for any help,
Allison

Welcome to the site Allison.

I would speculate that the car your father owned was most likely one of the first 50, and probably one of the ones that was sent back to GM by Fred Gibb Chev. The additional 19 ZL1's appear to have been specifically ordered by their selling dealers, as opposed to 'fleet' ordered like the Gibb cars.

Using this speculation would narrow down the possibles from 12 to 10 by eliminating car #'s 60 & 65.

It would help if you could tell us if your father's car was an automatic vs. a 4 speed, this way we could narrow it down to 1 of 4 a/t's vs. 1 of 6 4 speeds.

It was a 4 speed, not an automatic.

So, I guess that means that it is possibly the #36? I saw a thread on it and sent the owner a message to see if he knows any of the history on the car.

I found out last night that he actually was one of the ones that purchased the car in 1970. Does this still go along with #36?
