One that was in the Special Collection last year is a small block that you note the story of above. Another is the export King of Belgium big block roadster that was in the Special Collection two years ago. It's a very pretty 390 horse automatic. I used to see it at Road America over the years and finally talked with the owner. Quite an interesting story, there are some great pictures of it in Belgium when it was new. Of course, the King of Belgium probably had some pull with Chevrolet.
A collector in Illinois has a high option big block I've never seen.

TimG thank you for the information. I believe the King also had a Ferrari or two in the collection.
Regarding the earlier story: it was Jim Napier who saw the silver on red 427 coupe at a Chevrolet dealer in Grand Rapids, Mich. Jim lived in Holland Mich. and it was his dealer there 'DeNooyer Chevrolet' that ordered the silver Corvette convertible with a red interior. Nicely equipped the options included the 350HP small block, side mounted dual exhausts and red stripe tires. The car has had at least four owner...
