First of all the same plate number can't be in use and i think there is a period of time that has to expire after the registration expires. I know someone trying to use a plate and he's been told after the 1st of the year he should be able to use his plates if the duplicate plate number owner doesn't renew his. I will call next week and see which of the four sets of plates I have are usable and what the AZ DMV says.

Just got done talking to the AZ special plate office. I have four sets of plates 3 x 1969 and 1 x 1966. 3 of the four are available for use. All I have to do is go to the local DMV office pay $25 for the initial fee and $10 per year afterwards. The Special Plate Office was very customer friendly.
