I wonder if anyone remembers the LS5 1970 Chevelle convertable I had there that weekend. It was silver with white stripes and black gut and just about every option available, and I had 8 inch knock-offs and goodyear NCTs on it. Sorry for the minor hijack........Bill S

Wow..could it be?
I took these around August,1983-4 on a Saturday evening in Warrenville Il.in front of my parents store, hosting a carshow that day.

You know - it's interesting! These pictures of the 427
engine don't show any overspray on the intake or exhaust
manifolds. Now on the waterpump bypass hose for that matter.

Do we know if this engine was rebuilt prior to these pictures
being taken? I'd just like to know more........

Nuch

------Rick,,,You and I must have tripped over each other way more than once. Thanks so much for the pictures!!! That is one car I very much miss and am really proud of as it was a really great driver. It did everything well and all but paint and body was done by me. There were a few owner mods like the wheels, tires and some engine stuff like a 69 427 aluminum oval-port low manifold (liked the way it looked), cam, shift kit, 69 Chevelle chambered exhaust, etc. I wasnt planning on selling it, ever! Also, a whole bunch of NOS stuff went into that resto. Even though the car was black originally I wanted silver and white, but the collector I sold it to (for 15,500,,,ACH!!!) in western Iowa stripped it and repainted it back to black. He still had it along with about 25 other muscle-cars about 5 years ago when we last spoke.
------Once again,,,Thanks Rick and thanks to Les and everyone for letting me dive into some good memories.......Bill S

Not to be critical of the engine bay shots. but the car has been detailed under the hood clearly. Look at the booster painted black, phosphating has been painted over, and the use of many silver plated bolts. I have inspected this car and it is a great car, but like most cars of that era, it had some amature detailing. At one point a few years ago we were asked to re-detail this car. We never did...BKH

Thank you for filling in the gaps on one of the many cars you've owned Bill.
