I'm on it! Next week after I get the sending unit back. Meanwhile, minus a few detail items, everything is hooked up ready for MCACN! Ok.... maybe that's a bit far off, but better to be early than late. I for one, will be done at LEAST a few hours prior to the doors opening.

Cheers
Dave

"I for one, will be done at LEAST a few hours prior to the doors opening."

Seriously I can not believe what you get done in a day!! (I seem to get sweet FA done but even if I accomplished a normal amount I would still be completely in awe of your ability to progress!!)

If you fly into YYZ plan to stop by and give me some pointers!!

Ryan

Ahhh, ebay. You need something? Someone seems to have it. Date coded NOS thermostatic vacuum switch....NOS parking brake switch....you just gotta love it!

With this installed the only missing functional light is the low fuel indicator. And yes, I still need to mount that high beam switch. Sending unit comes back next week and that'll complete that. So... nothing left to do? Is this your first time reading this thread? Plenty to do!

Looking at the Hero Car, the Hurst shifter boot is on back order right now for another day, so I used this no-name one in place just for now. The Samitron, author of the infamous, and gorgeous, Day 2 '69 L78 Chevelle thread in the members ride area, has blocked my PMs now since I was apperently too aggressive in insisting he send me his Hurst shift boot. But that's OK...you can't guard that car all the time at MCACN.... especially at happy hour! Mmmwwwaahahaaaaa..cough.... oh, sorry.
Where was I? Oh yeah! Got the fold down seat and trap door installed and this weekend I'll be stripping and painting the doors in preps for the glass to be installed. I'll install the headliner this upcoming week too and then I can schedule the glass guy to do his thing. Two things homey don't do: glass installation and headliners

In totally unrelated news, apparently someone told the local Ford dealer here that I was building this car and the owner is interested in putting it on display next to a 2019 Bullitt model in the showroom! Negotiations are on-going right now, and so far, we're up to $25/day and two free Keurig K-Cups of my choice. I'm a pretty good negotiator, so I'm also headed toward the additional 8oz bag of free popcorn too!

Cheers
Dave

Looks killer, of course. What do you mean about stripping and painting the doors in prep for the glass?

Oh... when I painted the car, I didn't mask the doors so they have base/clear over them which obscures the grain texture of the door. I just want to remove the overspray so the grain pattern is more visible. Should wrap up the doors tomorrow!

Cheers

The stance is perfect. Nice to see you went with a good shifter, makes all the difference.

So doors stripped and shot in Metallic Black, so I'm ready to install everything. First step? Lay everything out so I can misplace the smallest part at the exact moment I need it. Seems that stuff goes together a lot slower than it came apart. . I do know one thing..... this side will take about 5hrs, and the other side about :13 minutes.

Very happy with the results and luckily, the doors still shut like a 50k mile car should! I'll install the door panels and all that jazz tomorrow after I pick up all the stainless from the polisher.

More to come! I'm in the home stretch! Headliner and glass are all that's left! Well.... and the two parts I sent out: 8-Track and the Fuel Sender. So exciting!!!

Cheers
Dave
