The date of the CBW rear is really not possible - it's a Deuce code and nothing was produced yet in March....

Kim;
Very cool. This confirms what I expected. No paint stamped PTB at Willow Run. Stickers were probably use the entire time of Nova Production. See here: http://chevynova.org/1962.html for pictures of the 1962 inspection stickers. From JohnZ who worked there[ QUOTE ] Picture 5 is a shot of a Chevy II after exiting the inspection area. You can see several single letter inspection stickers on the windshield. The small square inspection stickers are on the passenger side of the windshield just above the wiper blade. The some of the inspection stickers the windshield stickers were "M" (Mechanical OK from the Final Line), "P" (Paint OK from the Final Line), "B" (Body Trim OK from the Final Line), and "RT" (Roll Test OK) [/ QUOTE ] Greg

Kurt ...Im just going by a 62-76 Parts book published by GM. They list a 3:73 for a 69 Camaro as code BU and on later built 69 Camaros QX there is no C listed prior to any of the 2 letter 69 Camaro codes. I guess even GM makes mistakes too. I feel that if you wanted a lower gear on a 1970 Nova other than 3:55 you could get one if you hit the right channels. On the L89 deal it is possible but not probable. I feel that small dealers like Yenko and Gibb could order special requests why other dealers who sold larger volumes could not get any small requests. I say Never say Never.

It's not surprising that GM never documented the C being added to the late 69 axle codes. The codes themselves didn't change, so it wasn't really noteworthy, except to us.
