[ QUOTE ]
To each his own.

I have not kept up on the values of GM full size body cars so I could be totlally out of line here. I also think that you could buy a 1967 427/385 Implala SS car for the same or less than the price of the subject car here. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

In the Mopar world we refer to the full sized cars
(C bodies) as "sea" bodies, land yacths, or barges.

They don't hold anywhere near the values of the intermediates or smaller bodied cars with the same engines.

You can buy a 67 Coronet R/T with a factory 440/375 engine for $25k all day long.

[/ QUOTE ] I dont know of any 427 cars out there right now that can be bought for that money. SS 396 Impalas are going for 25k if they have low miles and a POP. The royal plum part of the car also adds value in my opinion and its just my opinion. I sold a 66 ss Impala with a non matching 396 in it for 24k 5 months ago.It was a 4 speed but this is a nicer car with better options.

Weird suffix.. Maybe this was a truck or marine block. It has definitely been repainted, so possibly somebody pieced the engine together.

Congrats Jacquie.
Like you said, half the fun is the clean up after the buy.
Look forward to the pics.

I wonder if the car has the original Delco Pliacells, since it has F41. That would be pretty neat. Congrats on the purchase! I'm happy to see that another 427 car is coming out of the woodwork. I would be happy to decode the whole car out for you if you would like.

Thanks everyone!

I'll be sure to post dirty pics ... before she gets a bath.

Thanks for the offer to decode Steve, I just might take you up on that. Here are a couple of blown-up pics of shocks. Can you tell from these if they are Pliacells? What is F41 option?

Congratulations Jacquie. This car was discussed at the MCACN a couple of weeks ago and I think my guestimate on value was right in line with what this lady was asking especially with that color combination. That will be stunning when cleaned up. Glad you ended up with it. Can't wait to see the progress photos. Cool ride!
