Keep us posted as things develop. I've seen production guesstimates from a few hundred to a few hundred a year. Clearly a cool car that could be a neat deviation from original muscle cars. Seems like the pricing may be even more favorable than the new vs. old ZL-1s (old GT40s seem to be on the order of $400K and up). They are awesome cars both in terms of on the track performance and in person to look at:

I hope the new one is too.

The picture in my previous post are the original pre-1966 versions (small blocks) taken at a vintage race in England this fall. Here is the new one:

Belair, nice observation about the blue oval. One of my customers pointed out an interesting thing to me. Their was a time when Ford did not want the blue oval on any car. FORD script/emblems only. It was supposed to be some image thing. It seems kind of weird that they wouldn't want their own logo on their cars doesn't it? I may be wrong on this but try to think of a Ford car from the 50's or 60's that had the blue oval on it. Im really not a Ford guy (I just work at a place that sells them! ) so I could be wrong about this.

FYI: Here's a link to some more info: 2004 Ford GT40

500 hp/500 ft lb out of a supercharged 5.4L should produce 0-60 times around 4 sec. and still hit a theoretical 200+ mph!

I don't recall seeing a blue oval on anything but modern Fords...

The blue oval was on the cars since the 1920s (maybe before). It is Henry Ford's actual signature.

As a badge I meant....I know the actual script was always there but did they use the blue oval on cars ?

I know the Model A Fords (1928-1931) had a blue oval emblem on the front of the radiator shell.
