There is no comparing the Gold car and the 68 car though...

Once again, I should have bid on the 69 PhaseIII GT Vette. DAMN! Well at least I got to sit in it for a while.
Ok guys, no jokes about the brown interior now.....

I am glad to see that I am not alone when it comes to not posting the documation for one of these cars. I have shown many on here my documents for my '70 in person but will never post them online.

I appreciate others that will do the same thing. This blue car is a Motion modified car and not a Baldwin Chev sold but that still makes it a desirable car. Let's face it! There are not very many documented Motion cars Baldwin or or otherwise.

Reguardless of the new car heritage of these cars. If Joel had anything to do with them then they will have to gain in value in the coming years due to the rairity of them. You seldom see them offered for sale. I only wish that there was more info on the cars that Joel build. (Hint Joel? Hint Hint)

I can say that having been in the Used cars/bodyshop business, back not too long after Joel was going strong. It can be a overwhelming undertaking. Just answering the phone all day and talking to customers leaves you worn out. I am sure that Joel has to rely mostly on his work orders and invoices to document these cars from back then. I can tell you that when you reach 60 it sometimes gets hard to remember just what you did and when. I can't imagine how he can do it as he had to have two or three times the employes and volume of business that I did. I can see why he charges for his service to document these cars.

I know a lot of people hope that they have found one of his cars and he has to fend off a lot of people still today. They are just wanting to cash in on what he did back then. I only hope that more of his old conversions surface as there has to be a lot of them that he did back then. I have pic of three '68 vettes from a magazine article and yet none of them are known to exist today. (perhaps one is in Kevins collecton)

So I want to wish you good luck with the sale of this Blue car and if I should win the lottery I will be calling you myself. Welcome to the forum and don't be a stranger. I don't know how you could stand to turn loose of one of these cars. I guess I am just selfish myself.

I'm sure he has his hands full with people trying anything they can to put that name on a car in an effort to bring in some quick cash.

I talked to a couple of guys who took cars up. They thought 123,000. Can't verify that, but they had no reason to make it up. One took a 69 camaro Yenko clone. It brought 39k. Seems like a lot for stripes, and a 454 truck motor. They were pretty happy.

Prices are getting a little confusing...Get a nice clean 69 X-44 base camaro for less than 25 grand, put in a new ZL-1 motor for 17,000 and you can get over a 100,000 grand...Those Yenko Clones are getting up there also...

I can't believe the price any clone is getting. Look at the hemi convert cudas getting $200k !!. pick up a convert for $50k, slip in a 25k hemi, do some resto work and boom make $100k.
