But those aren't convertibles. Top goes down, price goes up .

Uhhhh...does that coupe need a closer look ???.
Can you post some firewall pics and your cowl tag Rick...and what rear end is in it?.
That trade offer may be a good deal afterall ?.

I appreciate modified cars, but I'm always at war with a hardcore purist streak. I've had several cars with 3-speeds and dog dish caps that I simply couldn't modify because they were untouched and I couldn't be the one to "defile" them. (And I HATE 3 speeds and LOVE 5 speeds). That said, a white, 6cyl column shift Camaro has got to be at the bottom of desirability, other than the convertible aspect. I personally won't mourn its rebirth as either a Pro Touring car or SS/RS clone (as long as they don't waste date coded parts), or whatever.

Its like the house we tore down to build ours. It was OK, but the lot deserved something better. I'm MUCH happier in my custom built house.

Don't think it was anything special. X11, Std Black, Cortez Silver. Had a 10 bolt spool in it when I bought it. SB heater core.

The firewall looks like this now. Somebody put a hunk of aluminum in front of it.

WW Rick...that ZL1 should liven things up!!!.

As far as the car goes, I couldn't help but notice the original looking blank fenders, std. tail panel and ZL2?.
What fuel line and tach was there?.
And weren't some Copos X11 anyway?.

[ QUOTE ]
I can't believe that someone would want to destroy that car to build a "hot rod", when there are repop shells available.

[/ QUOTE ]

People still buy cherry '30s V8 Fords and hack them into street rods yet 'glass and repro steel bodies have been available for years. You know what it is? Anybody can buy a repro, but it's more prestigious to have original sheetmetal. Cutting-up an original car is more desireable to many than it is to simply buy repro.

Remember, what's "cooler" to say when someone asks if it's a real car? "Yeah, it's real." or "No, it's a repro body." There you have it.

I'd rather he started with a clone then this car or a rusty rsss You have guys building clones with fake #'s ,tag ,paperwork etc and then you have guys taking #'s match ss or z28 and pro touring them why do they not just switch cars ?

I also noticed the rear antenna hole, and no antenna hole in the fender. Coupled with rear spoiler, that would be a negative. But I thought, maybe radio delete, with aftermarket radio/antenna. Also noticed the spoiler holes in the trunk lid, but couldn't see any emblem holes. If the lid is original to the car, it would have had one or two sets of emblem holes. Another negative, but bondo is a magical thing.

We can dream for you can't we?
