I saw the video, Charley what do you think of the all glass roof? Surely that would make it hot inside. Pretty cool though

Thanks for posting that article Charley. The fact that they got 500 miles from it at a near constant 70 mph is really impressive. That thing is a game changer for people like me who never wanted to deal with the short range issues.

I live in Ca. where there are plenty of charging stations so I'm sure there will be more electric cars on the road as time goes on but no idea how people in the rural parts of the country will be able to access the electricity needed. I'm a car guy and thought Tesla was stupid but after driving hipo electric vehicles I would not buy another gas only vehicle except for long trips until they speed up the charge networks...

There are a number of companies deploying charging solutions, a mix of OEMs and 3rd party. For example ChargePoint and EVgo are two national players. VW has Electrify America. From what I've seen the charging players are logically targeting urban areas (big cities) but also look at popular roadways where it can make sense. It's a neat scene, I am a headhunter and we cover power / renewable energy and expanding into EV.
But yeah rural areas will be last. |

I think right now EV's make sense if you can charge at home all the time and use them around town. For long trips or living out in the sticks you better have a plan.

----Admitedly, I live in the country, but I'm only 50 minutes from Detroit and I have not seen any sign of a charging station anywhere. Have seen a few Tesla's but I,m thinking they are just out for a jaunt up the river sightseeing. Probably from the tonier suburbs......Bill S

Out here you can't burp without seeing a Tesla. You don't want to race a Tesla Plaid. I have no experience yet using charging stations other than charging at home overnight. Plugs into a 220 50 amp 14-50 plug and I'm fully charged in about 8 hours. The charge stations on the road vary in output. Lucid is setup to take up to the new 900 volt charge and can add 300 miles range in 20 minutes.
