To the best of my knowledge, the black wrinkle finish rocker arm covers didn't reach production until 1970....earlier cars had chrome covers. So, the orig owner must have changed those out at some point. Not like that is much of a distraction

Those are the correct valve covers for that car. All the street hemis from 66 to 71 had the black wrinkle finish valve covers. Those are right for that year, as they have the correct style, slide-on, oil cap with the pcv fitting on the passenger side, rear and the slide-on vented oil cap on the driver's side. The 70 and 71 valve covers have a large grommet with a push-in, vent cannister in that position, and ran a stand-alone pcv and a screw-in, oil cap on the driver's side. Wow, I guess I learned something new today. As a former Hemi-car owner, I thought I was somewhat knowledgeable, but I will certainly defer to your expertise, Steve.

I consider myself only semi-somewhat knowledgeable. My wife would confirm that fact.

I believe my wife would echo a similar sentiment about me.

Maybe I was thinking of the air cleaners....the 66-68 cars had chrome ones, and the 69 and newer had non-chrome oval ones???
