My auto industry contacts think that we'll be at most 50% EV in 20 years.

We were chatting about the banning of gas cars in this thread... however we can discuss in significant detail the plan to use climate alarmism to enslave the vast majority of the planet, well we can do that too.

It's very well documented. You can read UN Agenda 2030. In fact as far back as 1996 Mikhail Gorbachev stated the exact agenda driving climate alarmism:

“The threat of environmental crisis will be the international disaster key to unlock the New World Order.” He was underscoring the importance of advancing Marxist objectives by creating an emergency to convince people they must surrender freedom to be safe".

This idea has been parlayed over the decades into a global campaign to control vibrant economies.

Currently here in America, it is being served up as the "Green New Deal".

Seriously... we can have this discussion... it will be fun and entertaining.

By the way my contacts within GM say in unequivocal terms that GM is going to go Bankrupt for a second time... it's just a matter of time now.

Did anyone know electricity can be "Virtual"??

The DOE says so: https://www.energy.gov/lpo/virtual-power-plants

So let me translate this for you: DOE is discussing "Virtual Power Plants", which is simply the ability to shut your HVAC system off, turn your hot water heater off, and even drain the battery on your EV through load shifting and grid balancing.

On the coldest days of the winter, when the grid does not have enough power, first they will take the liberty of draining the power out of your EV battery. NOW because you no longer have a gas car-- Guess what---you are now stuck at home.

Then, because your house is all electric and "smart" they can next remotely turn off your heat and hot water.

It is a great discussion... and this is simply the TIP of the iceberg.

Toll Brothers said 35% of new home construction incorporates solar power and that figure is growing each year.

Black and Decker just built a 280,000 sq ft factory in Kentucky 100% solar powered and they are selling excess power back to the ,local grid.

Six Flags in Ca is going 100% solar,

Home Depot is making all their stores 100% solar-the stores they already did are 100% off the grid. Chase bank regional office , 13k employees in Columbus went solar and is 85% powered by solar soon to be 100%

The Grid and Ev's will be fine. I just drove up Rt 23 from Columbus to Michigan and solar panels on factories and office building are going up everywhere.

As for "15 minute towns" the US is not Denmark where you can drive across the country in a an hour. The biggest real estate trend in the US is people moving from large cities out to the country.

No one is going to take away cars or homes. The US has a million gov't programs and incentives to get first time buyers into homes.

I am not getting your reply.. are you saying that what the DOE says virtual power plants "are" is perhaps not... or perhaps people are going to adapt? or that corporations are collecting green subsidies like hogs at the feeding trough is unusual?-- Finally are you saying that the Great Reset Agenda is not what the World Economic Forum SAYS it is?

Which is it or is it all of the above? Please enlighten me further.

Lets discuss further shall we?

Back on the topic of banning gas cars:

A World Economic Forum white paper published just last month supports a vision where three in every four vehicles is removed from the road by 2050.

And the center for advanced manufacturing gets funding from.....the state of Michigan.

Article published on this topic just yesterday raises concerns:

But wait.. There's more... New York City is ready to hit residents and visitors alike with a “congestion charge” after federal approval was granted this past Monday for its first-in-the-nation plan to impose big tolls to drive into the most visited parts of Manhattan. $23 dollars a day... .

The program in projected to begin as soon as the spring of 2024, bringing New York City into line with places like London, Singapore, and Stockholm that have implemented similar tax impositions on drivers simply going about their everyday business.

And Los Angeles is going to be next....Kind of sounds like the domestic implementation of the strict regulation of cars that the WEF is calling for to accomplish the overall goals of the "PLAN".

The back story on the sudden "congestion" that needs to be addressed.

In many areas of Manhattan there used to be 4 lane roads.

Then one lane was restricted for mass transit only and more recently another lane restricted for bicycle's and scooters leaving only two lanes for cars.

Presto... create a problem that did not exist previously THEN enact a TAX to generate revenue.

Finally, Oregon will let you pump your own gas

Quote:
The prohibition on self-serve fuel has long confused out-of-town drivers, and some locals don’t always abide by it: When expensive-looking vehicles appear at the pump, attendants sometimes ignore the law and let the driver take care of things. If H.B. 2426 becomes law, at least half of the pumps at any given station in Oregon must be self-service.
