as I stated earlier...it seems as though the stripe ends are taped and there is not the typical overspray on the stripes in the cowl area..and now with these photos, it seems the same in the trunk area..
does not seem original paint i.m.o.

I love the shot of the original POP and the fingerprints under the left edges of the tape. Run those prints and maybe you can find the dealership employee that originally sold it. (If he has a criminal record, of course).

Cool car!

If you have the time, you may want to lift the driver and passenger side carpet to see if the body broadcast copy is under there. The original owner of my 68 told me he found his when he lifted the carpet to install the drive shaft loop. Mine was a Norwood car however. Great car, great find, good luck!

Great find twin to my 02E LOS Z28. My serial number is about 4100 ahead of this car. One observation my car was not original paint when I bought it as the California sun beat it up. Was the truck lip painted with the stripe colour when a spoiler was factory installed?

Looks like a nice car and a great score to be sure. The painted trunk lip was the first thing I noticed on this set of pics. Of the factory spoiler cars I have seen over the years, I cannot recall any with a painted lip like that. Added at the dealer before initial delivery, yes, but factory, none that I have seen.

Forgot to say also my 02E Z has a engine build date of VO205MO . This seems to be about the same time duration as this car relative to the vehicles build date.

Here are a few more pics from last night. I will probably not be able to do anything more with the car until tomorrow. We are going to get the car on the rack and drop the gas tank and get it drained and cleaned out along with the other fluids to start getting the car ready to run. We decided to get the car running because the way it sits now it would have to be sold as a project car and that would have a negative impact on the value as opposed to a running and driving car. Getting it running will be easy and cost very little. If you followed the thread on my 69 T/A you will see this car is going to be a piece of cake comparatively. I will go through the car and photograph and document all numbers to get it ready for sale. I will post more pics as I take them.

Thanks for following along.
Richie

Here is a tag I found under the passenger seat.

BT Rearend is special, 3.55 gears instead of the standard 3.73.

Engine VIN might be misstamp or mixing the engines between the next car on the line, probably misstamp.
