No D80 on the trim tag of an 02D car. that didn't show up on the tags until later. The car could have the D80 option, but it would not be on the trim tag.

Could be, but I would tend not to be so possitive due to the other facts that we have discovered.

I believe that use of D80 on the trim tags has been pinned down with'in a week or two.

Peanut Gallery: My days do not consist of Forum bouncing. I do not spend all my time on forums just having conversation. My job is to sell car's, not just have conversation.

Having said that, if you are a interested buyer please contact me directly. I'm not going to write an essay on the forum. So far, I have had only one person contact me to ask about the history of the car.

My contact information is below. If you heard the story regarding this car, you may have a different viewpoint. Phone is ready and waiting.

Thank you.

If your serious about your quota and its your job to sell cars than I would expect you would want to be knowledgeable about your product to the point where you would take some of the advice offered here. I certainly don't know you but just reading thru the ad and looking at the pics makes this car very suspicious to the point where if I was interested I'd run from it. This is going to be the case for many. I understand you may feel like your on the receiving end of a beating, but these are all good knowledgeable people just trying to help. Take advantage, if not then it may be best to pull the ad yourself if your not willing to learn. Good luck with your sale.

Stefano is correct. We know within a couple of weeks when this practice started. The ONLY folks out there who believe an 02D tag &quot;could&quot; have a D80 designation imprinted are the poor suckers (along with the friends of those poor suckers) who unwittingly bought a car with a fake trim tag and are still holding out hope that just <span style="font-weight: bold">maybe</span> there were one or two of the earler cars that just happened to get a D80 imprint by some wild coincidence. What &quot;other facts&quot; have been discovered that would indicate a Feb. car getting a D80 imprint on the trim tag? Normally, those kinds of &quot;facts&quot; are nothing more than statements from some guy who says he has been in the hobby for 35 plus years and he has seen many early such examples. Fake tags have been around for over 24 years, and fake stamps even longer.

If the story will make all the difference, then spill-it on your next post. I personally think you don't want a previous owner to contradict the story.

What I read from your statement is that you and/or your dealership's motto is &quot;quantity, not quality sales.&quot; IMHO, that's not a very ethical way of selling anything, much less a fairly high dollar car. Based on my conversation with another member on this forum, you don't have much more information on this car than you've posted here, so I'm not sure why you're adamant about having people call you if they are serious. It's a nice car and I'm sure you'll find some rich guy from the DFW area with little knowledge of what it really is to buy it, but it sure isn't going to be anyone on this forum.

Sales and marketing = sales. If your not marketing what your selling, your losing sales.
